Goal:
Our goal is to have a team of people on top of every fourteener in Colorado on the Same day (Aug 28) at the same time!
How:
We have volunteer team leaders who are recruiting a team to climb every 14er in the state of Colordo. Our hope is to get 54 team leaders to lead a summit team up all 54 fourteen thousand foot peaks in Colorado on the same day. Each team is being asked to raise a mininum of $1000 per team. Team members can donate themselves, get pledges for their climb or both. The team that raises the most money will win a sweet prize!
How will I be Helping?
The goal of Project 54 is to enable us to purchase the needed equipment to outfit underdeveloped countries for wilderness ministry, as well as stateside -so we can loan out gear (packs, sleeping bags, pads, tents, stoves, ect) to mobilize church groups. This is one of the larger barriers to wilderness ministry that we are making a high priority to tackle. We have weened this expense down to the last dime through pro deals with several equipment manufacturers.
Money raised from the event will be going specifically to our equipment fund to help mobilize locally and abroad, as well as to offset costs of our ministry, programs, and support our team- Ashley, Kathleen, Jon, Packer, and Thomas.
We are going to be giving away prizes to the teams with the highest overall donation. First place being a $1,000 gift certificate to REI!
Helpful fundraising tips to win that prize:
-The first is obviously team size. The more people on your team the more
donations.
-Second we will give you some info to spread the word about who we are
and what we are doing. Anyone who wants to sponsor you outside the
immediate participants, can log onto the project 54 page under your
teams name and make a donation. Click here to make a donation to a team.
-And thirdly, donations can be increased through individual donations
exceeding $54.
For friendly competition, all the 54 teams donation levels will be tracked on the Project 54 site page so you can know where your team stands. Click here to see the home page.
Who We Are:
Wilderness Ministry Institute assists leaders overseas in the development and training of wilderness youth ministry. The trail is a window to one of the most unique and truly powerful experiences. Creation simply wakes us up, unlocking our need for more. Intentional community, tears, laughter, breached walls, transformation -these are the highlights. I have never seen a community so alive, breaking down barriers, confronting a real need, and transformation, these are the goals. Focusing on hearts, our true desires, provides a unique opportunity to be real with what really matters, perhaps for the first time ever.
What We Do:
We help make this possible. Working alongside youth leaders within their local ministry context abroad, we equip in the development and knowhow. Simply breaking down barriers to make wilderness ministry, and ultimately transformation of lives a reality.
